Working Towards A Safer Kent
Tel: 01622 653208
Safer Kent helps prevent crime and anti-social behaviour. We are dedicated to creating a better environment for everyone in Kent.
Our Youth Inclusion Programmes use structured sport training to help young people to build their confidence and social behavioural skills.
How are they run? All programmes are run by trained sports coaches and are funded by the Trust and our supporting partners.
Who can make referrals? Any statutory agency, community group or housing association may make a referral. Any young person can be referred to the programme and referrals will be judged as to how the programme will benefit the young person. Being victims or perpetrators of anti-social behaviour is often the reason why a person is referred to the programme.
Where are the programmes held? At present we have the following programmes running:
Fighting Chance Judo Programme at Stone,
Fit 4 Life Football Programme at Maidstone and Luton areas of Medway.
Back-onTrack priogrammes at Gravesham Cyclopark and a planned programme in Deal.
Rugby Based programme starting soon in Edenbridge
Music based programme currently running in Maidstone and a 2nd programme planned for Marden.
Rugby Programme at Medway Rugby Club and Sheppey Academy
Coastal Inclusion Programme (Sailing and Kayaking) at Whitstable.
